Banned By A Tyrant For Posting A Picture of the Moon

I thought it was funny - the tyrant didn’t and she banned me. Tyrants obviously have no sense of humor. The two who run the Absolute Write Web site are proof positive.

Yes, they banned me for posting a picture of the moon.

I joined the AW writer’s forum in 2013. I thought it would be a good place to connect with other writers. It is just that as long as you don’t rock the boat and have an opinion on anything that doesn’t toe their tyrant line. It turns out the site is mostly a collection of pseudo-intellectuals whose primary purpose is to show the world how stunningly clever they are. They aren’t interested in other opinions, and they will be happy to tell you in a nauseatingly lengthy post how stupid you and your opinion are.

The site is run by two tyrants whose primary purpose is to throw their weight around and show everyone that they are in charge. Neither of them has even the slightest hint of a sense of humor.

I ran afoul of the tyrants several times. They have their favorites on the site, and anyone who argues with those favorites is looked on as an intruder and outsider. If you dare to present an opposing view, you get slammed and eventually banned. I got suspended a couple of times for daring to have an opposing opinion. I stopped visiting the site after one such suspension and pretty much forgot about it.

Recently, I went back to see if anything had changed. Nope, tyrants will tyrant, pseudos will pseudo, and it didn’t take long before they were at it again. These people hate it when anyone presents different opinions - opinions that differ from the tyrants. They also hate people who are more clever than they are.

After a ridiculous conversation with one of the tyrants’ favorites, I decided to inject a little fun. I had recently bought some moonshine sampler bottles and I thought that some members might enjoy a discussion on the booze. I had participated in several such discussions on the site - beer, bourbon/whiskey and more.

I posted this.

No one reacted or even commented, which seemed odd because I knew several members who appreciated booze and had joined in on previous threads. A few days later, I bought other moonshine flavor samples and I posted this. A few hours later, I received a private message from Tyrant #2. It accused me of getting kickbacks from the moonshine company, and told me that several members had complained about my posts, so they were deleted. It’s more like TFG’s ‘many people are saying’ line of bullshit. It was obviously Tyrant #2 informing me that she is in charge and I better follow their fascist rules.

Nope, not me. So I posted this.

Apparently, that was just too much for her fragile sensibilities. A real writer - a real person - would have appreciated the humor and taken the jab in stride. Nope, not tyrants. She took the toddler way out - she freaked out, threw a tantrum, and banned me.

Yep, she banned me for posting a picture of the moon. As you can see in the photo, she informed me that I can appeal the ban to Tyrant #1. Actually, it’s just tyrants being unintentionally funny. They are an amusing lot, those two. And no, I won’t be appealing the ban - it’s a badge of honor to be banned by tyrants.

Since we’re on the subject of moonshine, here are a few other tweets for your amusement.
